Dr Ashok Jain, Ph D.
Dr Jain, Ph D in Physics is a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, India. He spent his initial professional career in Physics research and teaching at the Universities of Delhi, Kyoto and Bristol and then shifted to Science & Technology Management and Policy analysis work in Indian Embassy, Tokyo as Science Attaché and in the Department of Science & Technology as Director in Science & Technology Promotion Division and then as Director National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies, NISTADS of CSIR from where he retired.
He has over hundred publications in Physics and in the multidisciplinary area of Science Technology and Society Studies and has edited a number of books.
Dr Jain is associated with S&T & Innovation Policy work, besides India, in several countries of Africa, Asia and Europe with the Commonwealth Science Council, European Commission and several UNESCO.
As Honorary Vice President for Research and Academic Development at EMPI Business School he has been involved in initiating a programme ‘Mission Innovative India’ launched by Honourable Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. He is also co-editing ‘Innovation: A Journal of Interdisciplinary Perspectives’. |
